Consumption per Capita


In 2023, energy consumption per capita in Nebraska had decreased 7.4 million Btu to 422.6 million Btu from 2022 consumption per capita of 430.0 million British thermal units (Btu). Consumption per capita in Nebraska for the year 2023 was 52 percent higher than the nation's consumption per capita of 278 million Btu.

In 2023, Nebraska consumed 840.1 trillion Btu of energy which was less than one percent (0.9%) of the United States' consumption.
