Litter Reduction and Recycling Grant Program
Provides funds to support programs to reduce litter, provide education, and promote recycling in Nebraska. Grants may be awarded to both public and private entities.
The Litter Reduction and Recycling Grant Program has been in existence since 1979. Its purpose is to provide funds to support programs to reduce litter, provide education, and promote recycling in Nebraska. Funds from this program are provided from an annual fee assessed to manufacturers. (For more information, go to Annual Litter Fee in this web site’s fees page.)
Approximately $1.5 million is available annually through this fund.

Allocation Percentage
Litter Reduction and Recycling funds are awarded in three categories: public education, cleanup, and recycling. Each year, the Environmental Quality Council establishes the percentages for allocation of funds for each category.
