Motor Gasoline Consumption

In Nebraska, data for three grades of motor gasoline (regular unleaded, midgrade, and premium) are reported. The data does not include the gallons of gasoline blended with ethanol. The reports on ethanol–blended fuel consumption, the total of motor gasoline consumption and ethanol–blended fuel consumption, and reported miles traveled during the driving season have additional information in relation to motor gasoline consumption.

Annual Data

In 2024, annual gasoline consumption of 132,373,249 gallons was 28.9 percent higher than the 102,733,157 gallons consumed in 2023 as shown in Figure 1 and the data table below.

Monthly Data

In Figure 2, monthly consumption in December of 2024 was above the five–year average, above December 2024's (last year) consumption, and in the upper half of the five–year range. With the exception of a couple of months, monthly consumption throughout 2024 was very high in comparison to previous years.
