Ethanol-Blended Fuel Consumption
In Nebraska, most ethanol is sold in a blended fuel—10 percent ethanol with 90 percent gasoline (called E–10) or 85 percent ethanol with 15 percent gasoline (called E85). The reports on motor gasoline consumption and the total of both motor gasoline and ethanol–blended fuel consumption have additional information in relation to ethanol–blended fuel consumption.
Annual Data
As reflected in Figure 1 and the data table below, ethanol–blended fuel consumption in 2024 was 789,057,999 gallons, which was a decrease of 3.4 percent from consumption in 2023 of 816,583,000 gallons.

Monthly Data
As shown in the data table below, ethanol-blended fuel consumption in March was 62,268,950 gallons. This was 7.4 percent less than a year ago but 11.8 percent higher than a month ago. In Figure 2, March 2025 consumption was below March 2024's consumption, below the five-year average, and in the center of the five-year range.
