Organic Hazardous Air Pollutants from the Synthetic Organic Chemical Manufacturing Industry (SOCMI)

This subpart applies to:

1. Chemical manufacturing process units and the associated equipment that meet all of the following criteria:
   1. Manufacture as a primary product any of the following:
      1. Tetrahydrobenzaldehyde (CAS# 100-50-5);
      2. Crotonaldehyde (CAS# 123-73-9);
      3. Any of the chemicals listed in Table 1 of this subpart.
   2. Use as a reactant or manufacture as a product or co-product any of the HAPs listed in Table 2 of this subpart.
   3. Located at a Major Source of HAPs*;

The applicability provisions, definitions, and other general provisions in this subpart also apply to NESHAP G and NESHAP H.

*Major Sources of HAPs emit or have the potential to emit:

• ≥ 10 tons/year of any single HAP; or
• ≥ 25 tons/year of total HAPs.
• Area Sources emit less than Major Sources.
