Electricity Cost of Irrigation by System
Energy Page
The survey that includes the cost of electricity for irrigation was conducted by the Nebraska Rural Electric Association annually from 1980 to 1994 and every two years after 1994. The average column in each table contains the average of all the systems, not just the systems in that table.

Nebraska's Total Energy Consumption by End-Use Sector
Energy Page
In 2022, the industrial sector consumed nearly half (45 percent) of Nebraska's total energy consumption. The other three end–use sectors comprised relatively equal portions of Nebraska's total energy consumption. Twenty–four (24) percent of the energy consumed in Nebraska was used in the transportation sector. The residential sector consumed 17 percent, and the commercial sector consumed 14 percent. This is reflected in Figure 1.
Nebraska Renewable Energy Consumption

In 2021, Nebraska consumed 934.12 trillion British thermal units (Btu) of primary energy and 217.40 trillion Btu of energy from
Motor Gasoline and Ethanol-Blended Fuel Consumption in Nebraska
Energy Page
The total of both motor gasoline consumption and ethanol–blended fuel consumption in 2024 was less than one percent (0.7%) higher than in 2023 as shown in the data table below.
Total consumption of motor gasoline and ethanol–blended fuel in the month of March 2025 was 72,380,232 gallons, which was 12.1 percent higher than the previous month and 6.3 percent lower than March 2024.
Figure 1 shows that March 2025's consumption was lower than March 2024's consumption, in the center of the five–year range, and equivalent to the five–year average.
Consumption per Dollar of Nebraska’s Gross State Product
Energy Page
Energy intensity is the ratio of energy input per unit of economic output, or the amount of energy used to produce a dollar's worth of goods and services. This measures the energy efficiency of the state's economy.
Consumption per Capita
