DWEE launches online portal for credentialed professionals

The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (DWEE) has launched a new online portal to streamline the application and certification process for water well professionals, public water operators, onsite installers, swimming pool operators and wastewater treatment operators.

The portal is live on DWEE’s website and was created specifically for aspiring and credentialed professionals to apply for and maintain their licenses. Credentialed professionals can create an online account here: Credentials

Clean Diesel Rebate Applications accepted through Dec. 7, 2023

LINCOLN, Neb. — The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy’s 2023 Clean Diesel Rebate Program is now accepting applications for agricultural irrigation pump diesel engine replacements. Applications must be submitted to DWEE by Dec. 7, 2023, to be considered.

The Clean Diesel Program uses grant funding to reduce public exposure to diesel engine exhaust, which can cause a variety of respiratory problems in addition to contributing to production of harmful ozone.

October is Energy Awareness Month

LINCOLN, Neb. — Gov. Jim Pillen signed a proclamation Friday, Oct. 6, recognizing October as Energy Awareness Month.

Energy Awareness Month aims to highlight the importance of energy efficiency and energy conservation. Energy efficiency is using technology that requires less energy to perform the same function and energy conservation is any behavior that results in the use of less energy.

DWEE’s Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving Fund Programs cross $1 billion threshold

LINCOLN, Neb. — The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (DWEE) plans to apply for $91 million through two non-competitive grants funded through the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).

These grant funds are known as the residential Home Energy Rebate programs -- specifically, the Home Energy Performance-Based Whole House Rebate (Home Efficiency Rebates) and the High-Efficiency Electric Home Rebate Program (Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates).
