This subpart applies to:

1. Affected facilities at secondary brass or bronze production plants that commence construction or modification after June 11, 1973.

Affected facilities:

1. Reverberatory and electric furnaces of 2,205 lb (1,000 kg) or greater production capacity.
2. Blast (cupola) furnaces of 550 lb/h (250 kg/h) or greater production capacity.

Not subject to this subpart:

1. Furnaces from which molten brass or bronze are cast into the shape of finished products, such as foundry furnaces.
