This subpart applies to:

1. Affected facilities at metallic mineral processing plants that commence construction or modification after Aug 24, 1982.

Affected facilities:

1. At open-pit mines:
   1. Crushers;
   2. Screens.
2. At mills or concentrators:
   1. Crushers;
   2. Screens;
   3. Bucket elevators;
   4. Conveyor belt transfer points;
   5. Thermal dryers;
   6. Product packaging stations;
   7. Storage bins;
   8. Enclosed storage areas;
   9. Truck loading or unloading stations;
   10. Railcar loading or unloading stations.

Not subject to this subpart:

1. All facilities located in underground mines;
2. All facilities subsequent to and including the beneficiation of uranium ore at uranium ore processing plants.
