Nebraska Monthly Diesel Fuel Prices

Winter demand for diesel fuel normally boosts diesel fuel prices. Although diesel is consumed in both the transportation and the agricultural sectors, the prices below reflect transportation sector prices. Diesel fuel is used for internal combustion in diesel engines.

Average monthly prices can also be viewed for the following cities: Columbus, Grand Island, Kearney, Lincoln, Norfolk, North Platte, and Omaha.

Weekly average prices are available.

Today’s average prices for the state, counties (hover over a county on the map), and cities can be found in the AAA Fuel Prices report (click on "Expand All").

A general rule of thumb: The price of diesel fuel per gallon will be about 25 percent higher than the price of regular unleaded gasoline per gallon at the pump. So if regular unleaded gasoline is $3.00 per gallon, diesel fuel will be about $3.75 per gallon at the pump.

Figure 1 is a graph showing monthly retail on-highway diesel fuel prices in Nebraska in comparison to last year's prices, the 5-year averages prices, and the 5-year price range.
