Samples taken earlier this week at Kirkman’s Cove Lake measured above the threshold of 8 parts per billion (ppb) of total microcystin, which is a toxin released by certain strains of blue-green algae.

DWEE Releases Report on Nitrate and Drinking Water

LINCOLN, NE – Today, the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (DWEE) released a mid-year report on nitrate and water quality which includes nitrate data on private drinking water along with an update regarding the agency's continued effort to protect Nebraskans and the state's drinking water supply. DWEE Director Jim Macy said the new report shows that Nebraska’s drinking water quality remains high, and that Nebraska has the necessary tools to continue improving drinking water quality.

Waste Grant Applications Available Online Through Feb. 13

Jan. 4, 2019 – Applications for this round of Waste Reduction and Recycling Incentive (WRR) grants are now available online. Applications are being accepted between January 2 and February 13. 2019. Application Period Extended for Rebate Program for Replacements of Diesel Irrigation Engines

The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality’s 2018 Clean Diesel Rebate Program has re-opened the application submission period for rebates to replace eligible diesel irrigation engines with all-electric equipment. The new application deadline is 5:00 PM Friday, Feb. 22, 2019.
