DWEE extends RFP deadline for Low-Income Weatherization Assistance provider in Douglas County

LINCOLN, Neb. — The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (DWEE) has extended the Request for Proposal submission deadline for a qualified contractor to administer the Low-Income Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) in Douglas County. DWEE Presents Free Workshop on Resources for Redeveloping Brownfields

The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (DWEE) will cohost a free, in-person workshop on state and federal resources available to assist with redevelopment of brownfields sites alongside the Technical Assistance to Brownfields Program (TAB) at Kansas State University and the Neligh Economic Development Office. This workshop is made possible by funding provided by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
DWEE begins weekly Public Lake Sampling

| The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy and its partners have begun weekly sampling of public lakes across Nebraska. This sampling will test for microcystin – a toxin produced by harmful algal blooms (HABs), also known as toxic blue-green algae – and E. coli bacteria. DWEE and its partners collect these samples at 50 public recreational lakes (55 beach sites) throughout the state from May through September.
