Lead-Acid Battery Manufacturing Plants - Subpart KK

Applicability

eCFR Subpart KK [ecfr.gov]

This subpart applies to:

  1. Affected facilities at lead-acid battery manufacturing plants that can produce at least 6.5 tons of lead in a 24-hour period (i.e., enough batteries to produce at least 6.5 tons of lead), and that commence construction or modification after Jan 14, 1980.

Affected facilities:

  1. Grid casting facilities;
  2. Paste mixing facilities;
  3. Three-process operation facilities;
  4. Lead oxide manufacturing facilities;
  5. Lead reclamation facilities;
  6. Other lead-emitting operations.
