Pulp & Paper MACT I

Applicability

eCFR Subpart S [ecfr.gov]

This subpart applies to:

  1. Major Sources of HAPs* that produce pulp, paper, or paperboard via any of the following processes:
    1. Kraft, soda, sulfite, or semi-chemical pulping processes using wood;
    2. Mechanical pulping processes using wood;
    3. Any process using secondary or non-wood fibers.

*Major Sources of HAPs emit or have the potential to emit:

  • ≥ 10 tons/year of any single HAP; or
  • ≥ 25 tons/year of total HAPs.
  • Area Sources emit less than Major Sources.
