Phosphoric Acid Manufacturing
Applicability
eCFR Subpart AA [ecfr.gov]
This subpart applies to:
- Affected sources at phosphoric acid manufacturing plants that are Major Sources of HAPs*.
Affected sources:
- Wet-process phosphoric acid process lines;
- Evaporative cooling towers;
- Phosphate rock dryers;
- Phosphate rock calciners;
- Superphosphoric acid process lines;
- Purified phosphoric acid process lines;
- Gypsum dewatering stacks;
- Cooling ponds.
*Major Sources of HAPs emit or have the potential to emit:
- ≥ 10 tons/year of any single HAP; or
- ≥ 25 tons/year of total HAPs.
Not subject to this subpart:
- Research and development facilities.
- Phosphoric acid manufacturing plants considered area sources.
