The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy will present a Nebraska Electric Vehicle Charging Station Rebate Program webinar from 11 a.m. to noon on Monday, Sept. 30. The webinar will provide information to businesses, government entities, and organizations wishing to apply for funding through NDEE’s Electric Vehicle Charging Station Rebate Program to install and maintain electric vehicle chargers that will be available for use by the public.

Clean Diesel Rebate Applications Accepted Through January 17

The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy’s 2019 Clean Diesel Rebate Program is now accepting applications for two types of rebates – local diesel truck replacements and agricultural irrigation pump diesel engine replacements. Applications must be submitted to DWEE by January 17, 2020, to be considered.

DWEE established the Nebraska Clean Diesel Program in 2008 to distribute funding received from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for the purpose of reducing diesel emissions and improving air quality in the state.

Clean Diesel Irrigation Engine Rebate Application Deadline Extended to February 21, 2020

The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy’s 2019 Clean Diesel Rebate Program has extended the deadline for submitting applications to replace agricultural irrigation pump diesel engines with all-electric equipment. Applications must be submitted to DWEE by February 21, 2020 to be considered.

DWEE, DHHS to assess manganese levels in community water systems

March 23, 2020 -- The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), in cooperation with the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (DWEE), has received a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to sample for manganese in small community water systems serving populations under 10,000.

Rebates Available for Diesel School Bus Replacements;

The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy’s Nebraska Diesel Emission Mitigation Program has announced the opening of the 2020 School Bus Rebate Program, which will use funds from Nebraska’s portion of Volkswagen State Trust to provide rebates to replace diesel school buses. Schools across the state are being notified that applications are now being accepted and must be received by Aug. 7, 2020, to be considered for selection. DWEE anticipates awarding up to 44 school bus rebates during this third year of the program.

Applications Being Accepted for Ethanol Blender Pumps Up to 66 Flex Fuel Pumps to be Installed Across Nebraska

LINCOLN – The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (DWEE) is taking applications for a new grant program designed to encourage the installation of ethanol blender pumps across Nebraska. Expanding motorists’ access to higher blends of ethanol will increase usage of advance biofuels and offer benefits to the state’s environment. Funding for the grants is made possible through a three-year, $3 million award from the Nebraska Environmental Trust.

2021 Waste, Litter, and Scrap Tire grant applications accepted August 13 – September 10

LINCOLN – Grants for the 2021 Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (DWEE) Waste Reduction and Recycling Incentive, Litter Reduction and Recycling, and Scrap Tire programs can be submitted from August 13 - September 10, 2020 (4 p.m. CST). The grant term will be January 1 - December 31, 2021. Grant decisions will be announced in December 2020.
