All About NDEE: Integrated Waste Management

The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (NDEE) regulates the processing and disposal of all solid waste in the state through the Integrated Waste Management (IWM) Program. The purpose of the IWM Program is to ensure proper management of solid waste. Regulations for solid waste disposal are incorporated in Title 132 – Integrated Solid Waste Management Regulations.
Health Alert issued for Kirkman’s Cove Lake in Richardson County

The state has issued a health alert for Harmful Algal Blooms (HAB), also known as toxic blue-green algae, at Kirkman’s Cove Lake in Richardson County.
Samples taken earlier this week at the lake on alert measure above the threshold of 8 parts per billion (ppb) of total microcystin, which is a toxin released by certain strains of blue-green algae.
