NOTICE OF PERMIT ISSUANCE
The Nebraska Department of Water, Energy, and Environment (DWEE) proposes to modify the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit for the City of Wood River Wastewater Treatment Facility, 13510 West Wood River Road, Wood River, NE (NPDES# NE0021661; SIC 4952). The publicly owned treatment works receives and treats domestic wastewater, which discharges from a mechanical treatment system through Outfall 001 to Wood River, Segment MP2-10200 in the Middle Platte River Basin. Modifications include updated ammonia limits and the removal of the ammonia limits compliance schedule for Outfall 001. The modification will not change the expiration date of the permit and will continue to restrict pollutant discharges to comply with the requirements of Department regulations. The draft permit, fact sheet, and other public information are available for review and copying at DWEE’s Lincoln Office, 245 Fallbrook Boulevard, Suite 100, Lincoln, Nebraska 68521, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (CT), weekdays, excluding holidays. Written comments, objections, and/or hearing requests concerning permit issuance may be submitted to NPDES and State Permits Section, Nebraska Department of Water, Energy, and Environment, 245 Fallbrook Boulevard, Suite 100, Lincoln, Nebraska 68521; before the comment period ending date of March 26, 2026. A determination to hold a hearing will be based upon factual environmental or regulatory consideration.
