for Custer Transfer Station, Inc.
under consideration by the
Nebraska Department of Environment & Energy
PUBLIC NOTICE is given in accordance with Title 132 - Integrated Solid Waste Management Regulations, Chapter 2, §011, that the Nebraska Department of Environment & Energy (NDEE) has received an application to clarify ownership of the permit for Custer Transfer Station, Inc., 43663 Ryno Road, Broken Bow, Nebraska 68822. After review of the permit application, a preliminary determination has been made to recommend the continuation of the permit. The term of the permit shall be the remainder of the original ten-year term, ending June 15, 2027.
FACILITY DESCRIPTION. The permit allows the operation of an existing transfer station under Nebraska's solid waste management laws and regulations. The permit allows for the collection of solid wastes that are generated off premises, then loading the solid waste onto transfer trailers for transport and final disposal at a municipal solid waste landfill.
FACILITY LOCATION. The property is located on approximately 3.32 acres on the west side of town with an address of 43663 Ryno Road, Broken Bow, Nebraska 68822. The legal description for the Custer Transfer Station, Inc. is the SW1/4 of the SW1/4 of the NE1/4, of Section 36, Township 17 North, Range 21 West of the 6th Principal Meridian Custer County, Nebraska.
Description of Activity. Ownership of the Custer Transfer Station has recently changed. In accordance with the provisions Title 132 - Integrated Solid Waste Management Regulations, Chapter 2, §0010.04B the new owner applied to the NDEE requesting a permit modification to update the name, address, and/or telephone number of the current owner identified in the permit. In addition, this permit modification revises several typographical and administrative errors identified during NDEE review. All changes made to this permit are minor in nature and do not substantively alter the operation of the Custer Transfer Station.
PUBLIC NOTICE. A onetime Public Notice will be placed in the Custer County Chief Newspaper on March 13, 2025,

Select “Public Records Search” at the bottom of the page, then “Public Records Search” again. A box will appear that needs the following information: for “Start Date” enter 12/01/2023, for “End Date” enter March 13, 2025, for “DEQ Facility Number” enter 62769, for “DEQ Program ID” enter NE0203190, for “DEQ Program” enter IWM. Select “Search” and all the documents for that facility will appear. Use the “Index of Correspondence” to select the documents related to this public notice.
