NOTICE OF INTENT TO RENEW PERMIT NE0204196

for Three Valleys Landfill, Inc. Construction & Demolition Waste Disposal Area

under consideration by the

Nebraska Department of Environment & Energy

 

PUBLIC NOTICE is given in accordance with Title 132 - Integrated Solid Waste Management Regulations, Chapter 2, §011, that the Nebraska Department of Environment & Energy (NDEE) has received an application to renew the permit of Three Valley’s Landfill, Inc. Construction & Demolition Waste Disposal Area, 71951 Road 396, Indianola, NE 69034.  After review of the permit application, a preliminary determination has been made to recommend renewal of the permit.  The term of the permit shall be five years.

 

FACILITY DESCRIPTION. The permit allows the operation of an existing construction & demolition waste disposal area under Nebraska's solid waste management laws and regulations. The construction and demolition waste disposal area shall accept waste which results from land clearing, the demolition of buildings, roads, or other structures, including, but not limited to, fill materials, wood, land clearing debris other than yard waste, wall covering, drywall, plaster, non-asbestos insulation, roofing shingles and other roof coverings, plumbing fixtures, glass, plastic, carpeting, electrical wiring pipe, and metals.

 

FACILITY LOCATION. The property is located approximately 5 miles south and 1 mile east from Indianola, Nebraska. The legal description of Three Valley’s Landfill, Inc. Construction & Demolition Waste Disposal Area is SW ¼ SE ¼ Section 29 Township 2 North Range 27 West of the Principal Meridian Red Willow County, Nebraska.

 

OPPORTUNITY FOR PUBLIC COMMENT AND HEARING.  The public may submit written comments and may also request a public hearing on the permitting decision. A request for a hearing must be made in writing and state the issues proposed for discussion and their relation to the proposed permit renewal.  Public comments and hearing requests shall be made to: Daniel LeMaistre, Waste Permit Section Supervisor, Nebraska Department of Environment & Energy, P.O. Box 98922, Lincoln, NE  68509-8922.

The NDEE will make a final decision to renew or deny the permit based on the permit application, the compliance status of Three Valley’s Landfill, Inc. Construction & Demolition Waste Disposal Area, and public comment received. NDEE will notify the applicant and other interested persons.

 

COMMENT PERIOD. All comments or requests for a hearing must be postmarked by March 3rd, 2025.
