NOTICE OF PERMIT ISSUANCE

The Nebraska Department of Water, Energy, and Environment (DWEE) proposes to reissue, with change, the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System/Nebraska Pretreatment Program (NPDES/NPP) permit for CAMACO, LLC, Columbus Manufacturing, 1815 East 32nd Avenue, Columbus, NE (NPDES/NPP# NE0000868; SIC 3714), This facility manufactures metal and wire frame seat assemblies and associated products for the automotive industry. Metal finishing process wastewater discharges through Outfall 001 and Outfall 003. E-Coat Paint Line Process Rinse Wastewater discharges through Outfall 006. Combined discharges from Outfall 001, Outfall 003, and Outfall 006 discharge through Outfall 005 along with other non-categorically regulated wastewater. Outfall 005 discharges to the City of Columbus Publicly Owned Treatment Works, which discharges final effluent to the Loup River, Segment LO1-10000 in the Loup River Basin. Non-contact cooling water and storm water/snowmelt discharge through Outfall 002A to the Loup River Canal, Segment LP1-21800 in the Lower Platte River Basin. The permit would be issued for a period of up to five years and would restrict pollutant discharges to comply with the requirements of Department regulations. The draft permit, fact sheet, and other public information are available for review and copying at DWEE’s Lincoln Office, 245 Fallbrook Boulevard, Suite 100, Lincoln, Nebraska 68521 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (CT), weekdays, excluding holidays. Written comments, objections, and/or hearing requests concerning permit issuance may be submitted to NPDES and State Permits Section, Nebraska Department of Water, Energy, and Environment, 245 Fallbrook Boulevard, Suite 100, Lincoln, NE 68521; before the comment period ending date of September 26, 2025. A determination to hold a hearing will be based upon factual environmental or regulatory consideration.
