Sept. 9 Meeting to Discuss Waste Grant Program Priority System
Aug. 27, 2015 – The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ) is announcing that the second of two outreach meetings concerning the Program Priority System for the Waste Reduction and Recycling Incentive Grants Program will be held in Lincoln on Sept. 9 at 2 p.m.
The Program Priority System provides a numerical ranking on each grant application and is used by grant reviewers and NDEQ’s Director to make final award decisions. An initial meeting was held on May 6th to seek stakeholder ideas on how NDEQ can improve the existing Program Priority System. Based on feedback received at that meeting and written comments, NDEQ has proposed a draft revision of the Program Priority System. The draft revisions are attached at the bottom of this page.
The focus of the Sept. 9 meeting will be to present the Program Priority System proposal and receive stakeholder feedback prior to a public hearing before the Environmental Quality Council on November 12, 2015. The Sept. 9 meeting will be held at NDEQ offices, 1200 ‘N’ St., Lincoln, in Room 424 on the 4th floor. If you are not able to attend the meeting in person, you may participate by telephone conference call at (888) 820-1398. Please connect prior to 2 p.m. and enter attendee code 9932065# when prompted.
For additional information or to share your input in advance of these meetings, please e-mail NDEQ at ndeq.waste@nebraska.gov or call (402) 471-0270.
