New Waste Grant Online Application Process Now Available

Jan. 2, 2014 – The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ) has created a new online application process for those applying for Waste Reduction and Recycling Incentive grants. The deadline for filing applications for 2014 has been extended to 11:59 p.m. February 15, 2014. Below is a link to the new application process:

Waste Reduction and Recycling Grant Application and Instructions

“This new process should be beneficial both to applicants and to the agency for a number of reasons,” said Steve Danahy, Supervisor of NDEQ’s Planning and Aid Unit. “It improves the agency’s efficiency and record-keeping, and reduces paper waste. It also saves the applicants time, reduces errors in filling out the applications, and provides a more direct method for them to submit their information.”

To ensure consistency in the grant application process, this electronic submission format will be the only application method accepted for Waste Reduction and Recycling Grants, Deconstruction Grants, and Scrap Tire Management Grants. The exception to this new process is Cost-Sharing for Scrap Tire Processing, Manufacturing and Civil Engineering Uses, which still must be completed on paper and delivered to NDEQ by 3 p.m. February 14, 2014.

Those with questions regarding the grants and the application process can contact NDEQ’s Planning and Aid Unit at (402) 471-0273, or can contact the agency at NDEQ.moreinfo@nebraska.gov.
