NDEE sets Feb. 20 Hearing for Proposed Air Quality Plantwide Applicability Limit (PAL) Permit at OPPD-Nebraska City Station
The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (NDEE) has announced a public hearing for Thursday, Feb. 20, in Nebraska City to accept testimony on a proposed PAL air permit for Omaha Public Power District’s (OPPD) existing fossil-fueled electrical generation facility located at 7264 L Road, Nebraska City, Nebraska.
The hearing will begin at 6 p.m. at the Rowe Memorial Public Safety Complex (Nebraska City Police Department), located at 1518 Central Ave. in Nebraska City. Prior to the hearing, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., NDEE will hold an information exchange session to answer questions from the public related to the proposed permit.
The information session will give the public the opportunity to have informal discussions with department staff. The 6 p.m. hearing will be a more formal procedure where the public can testify and present their comments that will become part of the public record. The hearing provides only for the presentation of testimony with no cross-examination of those testifying and no provision for question and answer. Following the end of the comment period, NDEE will prepare a response summary to all testimony and comments received.
The proposed Plantwide Applicability Limitation (PAL) permit and supporting materials are available for inspection at NDEE’s office, Suite 400, The Atrium, 1200 N Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68508.
