NDEE presents webinar series “The Nebraska Energy Code”

The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (NDEE) is providing a free multi-part webinar series on the updated 2018 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). This series is relevant since the 2018 IECC will become the Nebraska Energy Code on July 1, 2020.

This no-cost training for local governments and members of Nebraska’s construction and design industry is part of NDEE’s commitment to provide ongoing energy building codes training for the compliance, construction and design industries in Nebraska.

The seminars are also open to the general public wanting more information.

Updated information, May 7, 2020 -- An additional webinar, titled Energy 101, has been added to the list of webinars below. The additional webinar will occur on May 27, 2020.

About the webinars: NDEE is providing these no-cost webinars that will provide participants with information regarding the Residential and Commercial Provisions of the 2018 International Energy Conservation Code, which will become the Nebraska Energy Code as of July 1, 2020. Information provided will include code updates for the building envelopes, mechanical and lighting systems. This opportunity is being made available as part of the agency’s continuing effort to assist local code officials, builders, architects, engineers and others in the implementation of the Nebraska Energy Code.

Lynn has been with the NDEE for over 30 years working in building energy efficiency programs and codes for both rehab and new construction work. She holds numerous certifications from national construction industry entities involved in Energy Efficiency.

 

 

Bruce Hauschild, P.E., CEM
NDEE Energy Technical Advisor
Land - Energy Savings Loan and Planning section

Bruce has been with the State of Nebraska since 2000. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer and holds certificates as a Certified Energy Manager, International Energy Conservation Code Plans Examiner and Inspector, and a Home Energy Rater. He served as the primary contact for the Western Regional Biomass Energy Program, providing review of final reports. His current duties include commercial & residential plan reviews, review of energy audits, energy improvement and renewable energy applications in conjunction with Nebraska’s Dollar and Energy Saving Loan program, and technical support for the Energy Office.

 

The webinar moderator is Belinda Fowler, NDEE Small Business Environmental Assistance Coordinator.

Registrants are encouraged to submit questions prior to the sessions. This will enable the presenters to address the most relevant issues and make the webinars as useful as possible for attendees. Questions may be submitted to neo.energy@nebraska.gov.

1. Go to the topic you want to register for: Residential Provisions , Commercial Building Envelope Provisions , Commercial Lighting Provisions , Energy Codes 101 (2018 IECC)  and Commercial Mechanical Provisions .
2. Click "Register.”
3. On the registration form, enter your information and then click "Submit.”
