NDEE Presents Wastewater Lagoon Operation, Maintenance & Regulatory Compliance
The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy will present a Wastewater Lagoon Operation, Maintenance & Regulatory Compliance Webinar on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. This seminar is intended for lagoon operators, caretakers and other stakeholders, as well as the general public. The program will explain lagoon treatment processes, regulatory requirements, and proper lagoon operation and maintenance practices.
This is a continued effort of the agency to engage, inform and “Make Compliance Easy” for the regulated community and interested stakeholders. It supports the Department’s vision and mission of protecting and improving human health, the environment, and energy resources; through assessing, assisting, inspecting, educating, enforcing, funding monitoring, permitting and restoring.

About the webinar: The webinar will be useful to all individuals involved with wastewater lagoon operation and maintenance, including operators, municipal staff and other stakeholders.
About the presenter: Mike McBride is the current Title 197 Program Coordinator for the Onsite Wastewater Section and has been in his current role since 2010. Mike earned a M.S. in Forestry, Fisheries & Wildlife from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln (1995). Work experience includes: Owner/Principal Scientist, water quality contracting & consulting company (1998-2010); Aquatic Invertebrate Taxonomist, USGS National Water Quality Laboratory, Arvada, CO (1995-1998).
