The webinar will be on July 29 at 10 a.m. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic creating scheduling issues, the seminar had to be rescheduled multiple times. It was originally scheduled for March 24, then rescheduled to May 20.

WHAT: NDEE’s Waste Reduction and Recycling Grant Opportunities in Nebraska webinar
WHEN: July 29, 10 a.m.
WHO: Ruth Johnston, Land Planning and Aid Section Supervisor, NDEE and other NDEE employees from the section as schedules allow.

Registration instructions are provided at the bottom of this page.

About the webinar: NDEE’s Waste Reduction and Recycling Grant Opportunities in Nebraska webinar will provide information about several grant programs. These grants can fund litter and waste reduction projects and recycling programs, and help pay costs for scrap tire cleanups and many projects made from recycled scrap tires, such as artificial turf playing fields, athletic tracks and playground surfaces. Funding is also available to help with costs for collections for household hazardous waste, electronic waste, and pharmaceuticals. The webinar will be useful to schools, businesses, and government organizations who are working with waste reduction and recycling programs. Members of the general public who would like to learn more also are welcome to attend.

About the presenters: Ruth Johnston is the supervisor of the Land Planning and Aid Section. She has been with the grants program for over 20 years. She oversees the section, which provides grants to communities and organizations for a variety of programs. Other potential NDEE program presenters include: Candi Bazata has administered the Illegal Dumpsite Grant Program for over 10 years; Jessica Donnelly has administered the Waste Reduction and Recycling Incentive Grant program for two years; Holly Adams has administered the Scrap Tire Grants Program for three years; and Jennifer Nguyen has administered the Litter Reduction and Recycling Grants Program for one year.
