NDEE extends Comment Period on Air Permit Conditions I and II to May 1
The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (NDEE) is continuing its efforts to improve, restructure and standardize Conditions I and II in air quality construction permits (CP), air quality operating permits (OP), and the accompanying factsheets. These documents are issued by the NDEE in its administration of Nebraska Administrative Code Title 129 - Nebraska Air Quality Regulations. These changes are intended to unify permit conditions and streamline the CP and OP permitting processes.
The NDEE held a meeting open to the public on March 4, 2020, for anyone interested. NDEE staff presented the information for discussion and comment, and answered questions about proposed changes to the conditions. Discussion during that meeting resulted in a decision to extend the comment period to May 1, 2020. Additional information will be forthcoming if any meetings are scheduled or changes made..
Although changes were discussed on March 4, no additional changes are proposed at this time. The draft conditions and factsheet language are posted below. The NDEE will consider comments received during this period in its implementation of the standardized conditions.
For further information or to submit your comments, contact the NDEE by email “ndeq.airquality@nebraska.gov” (noted that this email address still includes “ndeq”) or by mail submitted to the attention of David Christensen, Air Quality Division, P.O. Box 98922, Lincoln, Nebraska 68509-8922.
