Meetings Will Discuss Expanded Nutrient Management Regulations
February 22, 2012 -- The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality will participate in seven meetings across the state in March for livestock producers to learn about new and expanded nutrient management regulations. These meetings are being announced and supported by Nebraska Cattlemen, Nebraska Farm Bureau, Nebraska Poultry Industries, Nebraska Pork Producers and the Nebraska State Dairy Association.
Changes to Nebraska’s nutrient management regulations have been put in place. These mandatory regulations impact all livestock producers that are permitted by the NDEQ. The meetings are designed to provide information to those with operations that are permitted by NDEQ and for those who are considering expanding their operations.
The seven meetings will feature a presentation by NDEQ nutrient management specialists, a meal, and the opportunity to ask questions of NDEQ and other industry specialists.

March 1 – Elyria – Country Neighbor at 6:30 pm
March 13 – Bridgeport – Prairie Winds at 11:30 am
March 14 – Oxford – Mulligans at 6:30 pm
March 19 – Beatrice – Gage County UNL Extension Office at 6:30 pm
March 20 – Wakefield – Legion Hall at 11:30 am
March 20 – Columbus – Wunderlichs at 7:00 pm
March 21 – Belvidere – Belvidere Community Center – 6:30 pm
