Four Meetings Scheduled to Discuss Proposed Changes to Litter Grant Rules
The Department of Environmental Quality has scheduled four meetings to discuss proposed revisions to Title 133 - Litter Reduction and Recycling Grants Program. A draft of the proposed revisions is on the NDEQ web page at https://dee.nebraska.gov/home then choose “Laws & Regulations” then select “Proposed Rules and Regulations” or click here Proposed Regulations.
At the meetings, NDEQ staff will explain the proposed changes, and seek comments from the public. The dates and locations of the meetings are:
Lincoln – January 25, 10 a.m. to noon, at Van Dorn Plaza, 2717 S 8th Street;
North Platte – January 30, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., at North Platte State Office Bldg, 200 S Silber;
Scottsbluff – January 31, 10 a.m. to noon, at Scottsbluff State Office Bldg, 505 A Broadway, Suite 300;
Norfolk – February 1, 10 a.m. to noon, at the Lower Elkhorn NRD, 601 E Benjamin Ave.
The public is also invited to submit any comments concerning the proposed changes by emailing them to NDEQ.moreinfo@nebraska.gov.
Once the Department has received and considered all comments, a final draft will be prepared, placed on public notice, and presented to the Environmental Quality Council for its consideration. It is intended to present the final proposal at a public hearing before the EQC on March 21, 2013 in Lincoln. The Council will provide the public the opportunity to testify at the hearing.
