EQC to Meet June 20th in South Sioux City
Topics Include SRF Intended Use Plan, Air Quality and Litter Grant Rules
May 24, 2013 – The Environmental Quality Council will hold hearings June 20 in South Sioux City on the Intended Use Plan for Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving Funds, Air Quality regulations, Litter Reduction and Recycling Grant Percentage Allocations and the repeal of Title 133 – Litter Reduction and Recycling Grant Program. The meeting will begin at 8 a.m. at the Marina Inn, 385 East 4th Street.
The first hearing is on the proposed 2014 Intended Use Plan for the Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving Fund Program. An additional revision to the plan was submitted May 16 by the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality, after it was discovered that the proposed plan inadvertently contained the 2013 Drinking Water SRF Planning List. Amendment 1 replaces this with the 2014 Drinking Water Planning List.
Other hearings at the June 20 EQC meeting include: Amendments to Title 129 – Nebraska Air Quality Regulations; 2014 Funding Percentage Allocations for the Litter Reduction and Recycling Grant Program; and Repeal to Title 133 – Litter Reduction and Recycling Grant Program.
Information relating to the four hearings, including the new amendment to the Intended Use Plan, can be found at DEQ’s web site, https://dee.nebraska.gov/home under Laws and Regulations/Proposed Rules and Regulations.
All interested persons may attend and testify orally or by written submission at the public hearings. Any person may provide advance notice of intent to testify by contacting Carla Felix, Hearing Officer, NDEQ, 1200 N St., Suite 400, P.O. Box 98922, Lincoln, NE 68509-8922. Unscheduled testimony will be heard following scheduled testimony.
