Drinking Water Protection Grant Proposals Invited
The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ) is inviting proposals for drinking water protection projects. Approximately $100,000 in grant funding is available to political subdivisions in Nebraska that operate a public water system serving a population of 10,000 or less.
Assistance has been available since 2003, when money set aside from the State Revolving Loan Fund became available to provide grants for drinking water (also referred to as “source water”) protection projects. Most source water protection activities that address drinking water quality, quantity, security, and/or education are eligible for grant funding.
Hard copies of the proposal must be received by the NDEQ office in Lincoln on or before 3:00 p.m. June 30, 2011.
For more information, go to DEQ’s web site: https://dee.nebraska.gov/home and select Grant Funds Available For Drinking Water Protection Projects. If you would like to have a copy of the request for proposal guidance mailed to you, or if you have a question, please contact: Department of Environmental Quality, P.O. Box 98922, Lincoln, NE 68509-8922 or call 402-471-6988 or toll free, 1-877-253-2603.
