Additional Rebates Available to Help Reduce Diesel Emissions in Nebraska
The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality announced a new rebate application opportunity through the Nebraska Clean Diesel Rebate Program, which provides assistance to trucking companies and independent diesel owner-operators to purchase equipment to reduce engine idling, which reduces air pollution and fuel costs. Please note that a previous solicitation allowing additional types of units for certain trucks remains available until March 31, 2012.
Eligibility requirements have been expanded in the new application phase, to include the opportunity to equip newer vehicles with specific battery-powered auxiliary power units. The new application form, eligibility information and related instructions can be found at NDEQ’s web site, https://dee.nebraska.gov/home, by selecting Publications, Diesel Emission Reduction Act (DERA) Grant Program and select “Expanded Clean Diesel Rebate Program Application.” The direct URL is: http://deq.ne.gov/Publica.nsf/pages/12-003.
Eligible applicants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. This funding is made possible by the Environmental Protection Agency’s State Clean Diesel Grant program.
Only signed and dated original applications delivered to the address below will be accepted. (Do not submit by e-mail or fax.) Submit the application form and all supporting materials by May 31, 2012 to:
