June 2022 Monthly Metrics

NDEE produces a monthly metrics report to measure what the agency has accomplished; to set annual and longer-term goals; and to examine these goals against accomplishments to ensure continuous process improvements.

Accomplishments:

  • NDEE, with assistance from the Nebraska State Fire Marshal and the Nebraska State Patrol, hosted a three-day training seminar in June for members of the Nebraska Hazardous Incident Team. The training reinforced proper response protocols to potential hazardous materials incidents and refreshed team members on vital equipment.
  • NDEE issued a Class I air operating permit for Cargill Inc. on May 12; the facility did not choose to contest the permit within the 30 days allowed under regulations.  This is Cargill’s first air operating permit – they have been under air construction permits for the past 24 years.
  • NDEE and NDED held a cross training event between the agencies on June 16 to better facilitate our work with communities across the state.  A follow-up meeting is planned to share information about NDEE’s Brownfields program and growth opportunities for its use.

Miscellaneous:

  • The Environmental Quality Council  met on June 29 and approved the 2023 Intended Use Plan for the Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving Fund Programs.
